A Reliable Wireless Protocol for Highway and Metered-Ramp CAV Collaborative Merging with Constant-Time-Headway Safety Guarantee

چکیده
To realize the grand vision of automated driving in smart vehicle cyber-physical systems (CPS), one important task is to support merging connected vehicles (CAVs) from a metered-ramp highway. Certain safety rules must be guaranteed. However, this demand complicated by inherently unreliable wireless communications. In paper, we focus on well adopted constant-time-headway (CTH) rule. We propose highway and CAV collaborative protocol, formally prove its guarantee CTH liveness under arbitrary data packet losses . These theoretical claims are further validated our simulations. Furthermore, simulation results also show significant improvements efficiency over other solution alternatives. Particularly, success rates more than \(99\% \) better 11 out 18 comparison pairs, \(0\% (i.e. tied) \(\sim 71\% remaining 7 pairs.

Ramp: A Reliable Adaptive Multicast Protocol
The specifications and performance of RAMP, a Reliable Adaptive Multicast Protocol, are presented. Initially described in IETF RFC 1458 [1], RAMP has been enhanced for use over an all-optical, circuit-switched, gigabit network under our ARPA-sponsored Testbed for Optical NEtworking (TBONE) project. RAMP uses immediate, receiver-initiated, NAK-based error notification combined with originator-ba...
متن کاملA Reliable Time Synchronization Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks
Reliability is crucial for time synchronization in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Existing time synchronization algorithms provide on average good synchronization in laboratory environment, however, outdoor environment associated with radio interference will influence the performance of time synchronization. In this paper, we proposed a Reliable Time Synchronization Protocol (RTSP) which is d...
متن کاملReliable Time Synchronization Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks
Sensor network applications need synchronized time to the highest degree such as object tracking, consistent state updates, duplicate detection, and temporal order delivery. In addition to these domainspecific requirements, sensor network applications often rely on synchronization as typical distributed system do: for secure cryptographic schemes, coordination of future action, ordering logged ...
متن کاملA Reliable Subcasting Protocol for Wireless Environments
This paper presents an end-to-end reliable multicast protocol for use in environments with wireless access. It divides a multicast tree into sub-trees where subcasting within these smaller regions is applied using a tree of retransmission servers (RSs). RM2 is receiver oriented [1] in that the transmitter does not need to know its receivers, hence offering better scalability. The Internet Group...

In this paper, a new hybrid routing protocol is presented for low power Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The new system uses an integrated piezoelectric energy harvester to increase the network lifetime. Power dissipation is one of the most important factors affecting lifetime of a WSN. An innovative cluster head selection technique using Cuckoo optimization algorithm has been used in the desig...
